Starlancer Pack Update

Hi!

I've been having fun creating a set of science vessels for the upcoming Starlancer packs.

Here's some of the things I've been making:These are still not finished, but it's probably close to the final version.

All Science vessel have a docking station that enables smaller investigation ships to exit and explore space.

Also there are circles in each vessel like this,

These are modular ships, where you can mount radars, guns or mining lasers. I'll be adding the relative ones in this pack:

  • Small Gun
  • Mining Laser
  • Tractor beam
  • Radar

These are circular so they can be easily rotated in game.

All science vessels seem alike, the main feature will be the entrance for the ships, alongside the control towers and front antennas.

Warning : The skewing of the ships for these examples removed some of the depth that the ships have, giving them a more flat look that they have.

Front entrance Science Vessel (medium size ship)

Back entrance Science Vessel (medium size ship)

Sided Entrance Science Vessel (Medium Size Ship):

Small example of a ship leaving the bay:

The pack will have a set of smaller ships (2 or 3) that can be used for small exploration and planet landing.

Not sure if these are the ones I'll add, but the first seems really well suited. The other one seems more like a combat ship.

Price point

I'm having some doubts here, I can make this a series like Smallburg with a 4.99 tag for each set of ships or create a single project with a higher price point of 15.99/19.99 where I just keep on adding all of the ships of the fleet.
I want to add Carrier Ships, Assault frigates, Space Workshops, Repair Frigates, etc.

So in the first you can buy just what you want, in the second you pay more but get all the ships that I make. Still not sure which one is better. If you have any ideas, just let me know.

Well that's all I got for now... Hope you enjoy it!

Cheers!

I swear the circle for equipment slots on the ships i found a sprite sheet with that on it a while back and i love the idea of different sized ships having different amount of equipment slots. and ive worked that into my game.

also on the one pack or more. I have been looking for scifi assets for my game and I can't make a bunch of purchases at once with my bank card without it being flagged as fraud. So I recommend having a one time purchase even if you do decide to go with individual packs.

Not an expert at all, but from what I see other creators doing: it may be a good idea to have one pack, that can accumulate views and ratings, and provide (perceived) good value for one purchase. And you can always have a tiny free demo, a payment tier that gives access to some small ships, and another tier for the full pack!

yeah... I think I like that option better.

Thanks for the reply!

I can even add a godot example where you can play with the ships.
