Weekly Update #14 - SmallBurg... err Small Children...

I know, I know! I promised outside stuff like the town square... but as I was doing the park stuff, I realized that I needed children in Smallburg!

So I set out to make some new characters for kids... which is a challenge as the base character is already small. But a pixel change in height makes a lot of difference, and two makes way more.

Here's the result...

What do you think?

I also animated the kid for Idle, Walking and Running.

I still have a lot of work to do here, but I'll update it in the coming weeks.

What I want to do here...
First of all, more skintones. I am aiming for 5 skin tones on the base character and these should match for the kids as well.
All of the base hairstyles reduced as well as more clothing options for the characters.

There is a lot of work still, but I am really happy with the results so far. Hope you all enjoy it.

The adventuring pack

I created a lot of doors and a base enemy this week.

First of all the doors.

Each with their own keys and boss keys and even color keys!

Both for regular top down

or zelda snes top down styles

I also added an enemy to the pack... the almighty basic slime. Here are the two main attacks for the slime.

And that's it for this week. it feels great to return to form and actually be producing a lot of art for the packs. I'm having a lot more time now since my house is already in order and I have a proper place to work.

And that's it for this week. See you next week or if I release the adventure pack sooner.

Have a great week everyone!

Awesome work as usual! The new kid sprite is very cute, and the adventure pack looks very cool too :) Great job!

Coming from a veteran pixel pusher like you, it's an amazing compliment. Thank you!

Adventure pack is looking good’

Thank you. Quite enjoying getting back to it after two months of utter moving chaos! :)

I went through the same last year, it must feel nice to have it over with! Good luck!

Five months of either Selling my old house, buying a new one, Work being done on new house, then moving for two months while work is still being made... And now it's finally over(ish)! Gained several strands of white hair these last months :D

But in the end it was indeed worth it. Thanks! Hope you already recovered from your moving last year :) !
